Evonik at ChinaCoat 2014: Foster customer proximity with creative solutions

Evonik Industries, one of the world leaders in specialty chemicals will showcase itself at ChinaCoat 2014 as a creative development partner for the coatings industry. “Fostering strong relationships and collaborations with our customers is the key to success in business. Our ‘One Partner, Many Experts’ initiative emphasizes our philosophy by approaching our customers’ problems with creative solutions,” said Dr. Hong Zhong, Senior Vice President of the Coatings & Additives Business Unit in Asia.
At this year’s ChinaCoat, Evonik will exhibit its most advanced products and novelties that provide tangible added value to customers. In addition to its booth presence, Evonik will organize a customer event at the Langham Place Guangzhou on December 4. The Evonik experts will share insights on the industry trends and present innovative products and solutions for surface modification. Key topics include novel applications by solvent-free nano-structured dispersion, DYNAPOL® polyesters for food packaging coating solutions and silica-nanocomposites for scratch and abrasion resistance.
China is the world's largest producer and consumer of coatings. The growth rate of China’s coatings market is expected to be around 10% in the coming years. For the coatings industry, megatrends are driven by the global challenges, such as climate change, population and income growth, scarcity of natural resources. Evonik endeavors to offer coatings products and solutions that contribute to resource efficiency and sustainability.
To capture the growth opportunities in the Chinese coatings market, Evonik formed a Paint and Coatings Industry Team that bundles its competencies from different businesses for the coatings area and is able to move much closer to markets and customers. With the aim to act as a creative development partner for the coatings industry, Evonik continuous to invest in research and development and opened a “Coatings Innovation Center” in the new R&D Center in Shanghai last October. Coatings labs of different businesses have been put together to create synergies and generate innovative ideas. In addition, Evonik successfully opened world-scale production facilities for producing isophorone and isophorone diamine in Shanghai this July. With the new plant, Evonik is able to quickly and reliably supply customers in China and other Asian countries from the regional production platform.
