Evonik presents its sustainability solutions at CIIE 2022

  • Over 10 new products to be launched
  • First China sustainability report to be released
  • Drive sustainable growth in China by leveraging the "CIIE Effect"

Evonik announces to participate in the fifth China International Import Expo (CIIE). The specialty chemicals company will bring various innovative and sustainable solutions to CIIE, so as to support China’s pledge to achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.

Over the years, the CIIE has become a platform for companies to demonstrate their latest products, technologies and services. It also provides opportunities for international companies to play a part in China's high-quality development. Evonik participated in the first CIIE in 2018.

The company has established long-term and close partnerships with many local customers and has been providing innovative solutions for various industries. This year, with the theme of “Driving sustainable development to co-create a green future”, Evonik will showcase a series of innovative, eco-friendly and sustainable solutions tailored for local market needs. These products can be applied in various areas such as automobiles, consumer goods, animal nutrition and urban construction. Evonik will also introduce pilot projects of energy conservation and emission reduction carried out at its production sites in China.

During the CIIE, over 10 products will make their global or China debut. These include lithium-ion battery materials for electric vehicles (EVs), new biomaterials for medical applications, sustainable polymers for consumer goods manufacturing and functional additives for construction protection. These products are expected to drive business growth and support sustainable development of various industries.

In addition, Evonik will release its first local sustainability report. "Evonik Sustainability Practices in China" is an integrated publication to include the company’s latest practices in business, operations, employee development and social engagement, with an aim to enhance transparent communications with local partners.

"Sustainability has become a core element of our corporate strategy. We have made stride in local sustainability practices, which aligns with China’s pledge to achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals. We will introduce our latest achievements and best practices with regard to innovation and sustainability at CIIE 2022. Our engagement in the expo will be a concrete action to support the upgrade of the Chinese chemical industry," said Fuliang Xia, president of Evonik Greater China. "We also look forward to strengthening collaboration with Chinese authorities, customers and business partners on the topic of green development via the CIIE, so as to further drive business growth in China."

The fifth CIIE will take place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) during November 5-10, 2022. Visit Evonik booth (3B1-04 - Hall 3) or follow Evonik on WeChat for more information.
